Herman Cain apparently has proposed a tax reform along lines I once suggested. I made the case from a public choice perspective that single-digit tax rates would reduce the incentive to lobby for tax breaks.

Still, there is nothing to the rumor that I am a Cain insider.

I'd be interested to know what you think of Cain's tax ideas, both the transitional "9-9-9" plan and the "Fair Tax". I've looked at them just a little, but I don't have the expertise to form a reliable opinion.
